This notice describes the personal data Fetch processes, the purposes of that processing and the rights you hold.
The data controller is Fetch Ventures Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17017140, registered office 167-169 Great Portland Street, London W1W 5PF, reachable at hello@fetch-france.com.
Fetch Ventures Ltd is registered with the UK data protection authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), under reference ZC237273. The Data Protection Officer is Mr Carl Kanaan, reachable at hello@fetch-france.com.
The company is established in the United Kingdom; the data is hosted in the European Union, in France (eu-west-3, Paris). The United Kingdom is covered by a European Commission adequacy decision, so any transfer to head office takes place on that basis. As the service is aimed at the public in France, the GDPR applies to the processing.
Data collected and purposes
Account
An account requires an email address, used to sign in and to send you communications about your orders, together with a name and a phone number, which the runner needs in order to identify and reach you at handover. One optional field can be added from your account: gender, whose answers include "prefer not to say". It is never asked at signup, is used only for aggregate statistics on who uses Fetch, is never shared with your runner, and plays no part in pricing or in who is offered your order. It can be cleared from the same page in one tap. No other account data is collected.
Identity: what Fetch asks for, and of whom
Fetch does not ask its customers for an identity document or a date of birth. A customer account is created with an email address, a name and a phone number, and nothing else is required before ordering. This check did exist until 26 August 2026: on that date it was withdrawn, and the identity documents, dates of birth and verification decisions held on customer accounts were erased.
Runners do provide an identity document, the documents required by law for self-employed activity and a photograph of the applicant. They enter customers' buildings and invoice their missions in their own name: these documents are used solely to establish who they are and that they are entitled to work. They are reviewed by a person, kept in private storage, are never shown to customers and are not passed to any third party.
Order data
Fetch processes the pickup and delivery addresses with their coordinates, the door codes, floors and instructions you provide, the description of the item carried, its declared value and the route between the two points. This data is used to price the order, assign it and complete the delivery. Addresses saved in your account are saved at your request and can be deleted at any time.
Runner location
The runner's device reports its position only while an order is in progress, between acceptance and handover. No location data is collected outside that period. This data enables order tracking and the review of any dispute. A runner's position is visible only to the customer of the order concerned.
Handover photos
The runner photographs the item at pickup and at delivery. These photos serve as proof of handover and are attached to the order, where both parties can view them. On a Purchase & Fetch order, the cashier receipt serves this purpose.
Ratings
After an order, the customer and the runner rate each other from 1 to 5. These ratings are kept with the order, and the average of the ratings received is kept on each account. Every account starts with an average of 5.00, which is a starting value, not an assessment.
Ratings given for a specific order are not visible to the other party. Your average is personal data: you may request a copy of it, together with the comments behind it. Before an order, the runner sees your average and the number of orders you have placed, and you see theirs.
Payments
Card details are processed exclusively by our payment provider and never pass through Fetch's systems. Fetch does not see your card number and keeps only the amount, the currency, the status of the authorisation and the provider's reference.
Support
If you open a support request, Fetch keeps the content of your request and the action taken on it, attached to the order concerned.
Where the data is held
Data is stored in a Postgres database provided by Supabase and hosted in the Paris region (eu-west-3). It does not leave the European Union in the normal operation of the service. Access is restricted at the database level: one customer's orders cannot be read by another customer, and a runner can only access the order assigned to them.
Recipients
Data is shared only with the following recipients:
- The runner on your order receives the information needed to carry it out: the addresses, the instructions, the item description, and your first name and phone number. They have no access to your other orders or your saved addresses.
- Our payment provider processes card details.
- Address and routing services receive addresses in order to resolve them and compute the route. Addresses come from the Base Adresse Nationale, the French national address register, and routes from an OpenStreetMap based routing service.
- The site's host, Vercel, receives cookieless audience measurement: page viewed, country, device type and load time. No identifier able to recognise you from one visit to the next is created.
- Trustpilot receives your email address after a completed order, blind-copied on the email that asks you to rate it, so that it can invite you to leave a public review of the service. You are under no obligation to answer, and you can opt out of those invitations with Trustpilot.
- Nobody else. Fetch does not sell personal data, does not share it with advertisers and does not build profiles for any third party.
Retention periods
- Account data: kept while the account exists.
- Runner documents: kept while their runner account exists, then erased with it. No identity document is held on a customer account, since Fetch does not ask for one.
- Orders and the invoices attached to them: kept for the period required by French accounting and tax law.
- Location traces: kept for as long as they are needed to review a possible dispute on the order, then deleted.
- Handover photos and cashier receipts: kept with the order, then deleted on the same schedule.
Deleting the account removes the profile and saved addresses. Records the law requires Fetch to keep are retained in the narrowest form the law allows.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you may exercise the following rights. Fetch responds within one month.
- Access: obtain a copy of all data held about you.
- Rectification: have inaccurate data corrected. Your name and phone number can be edited directly from your account.
- Erasure: have the account deleted, along with the data Fetch is not legally required to keep.
- Portability: receive your data in a machine readable format.
- Objection and restriction: object to a specific processing operation, or ask for it to be suspended while a request is examined.
To exercise these rights, write to hello@fetch-france.com from the email address linked to your account. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority, which is yours as a person resident in France.
