You have never met. That is not a problem.
A private sale inside one city nearly always ends in the same negotiation: where, when, and which of you crosses Paris. A verified courier makes the trip instead, with a photo of the handover and, if you ask for them, a code at each end.
Proof that you really handed it over
The courier photographs the item at pickup and again at the handover, and both photos stay on the order. Tick the codes and they can only close the delivery with the one the buyer alone had, which on a sale to a stranger is worth doing.

Fetch bills the person who places the order, and only that person. Agree between you first. Either of you can be the one who orders: whoever does types both addresses, and the other gets the delivery code and the tracking.

Parcel already labelled? The courier drops it at the relay point or with the carrier for you, and the handover is photographed. From there the tracking belongs to the carrier and no longer to us.

They do not open the parcel, do not inspect the item, settle no disagreement and collect no money for you. There is no cash on delivery at Fetch: cash is on the refused list. The money is settled where the sale happened.

The price is the price of the trip, from €8.90, shown in full before you confirm. On a piece sold for a few euros, crossing Paris will cost more than the item: the relay point is the right answer then, and we would rather say so here than afterwards.

What makes a hand delivery awkward is everything around it.
The buyer who wants to check first
The courier opens nothing and gives no opinion on the condition of anything. Send the piece sealed and describe it honestly: the checking happens between the two of you, where the sale happened.
Nobody at the other end
The courier leaves nothing at a door. If nobody comes, they wait, then the order ends and the work already done is billed. Tell the buyer a courier is coming, and in whose name.
The item above the ceiling
The app refuses any declared value above €2,000.00. A rare piece sold for more than that does not go through this form, and it is better to know before you promise the buyer a hand delivery.
The return, the other way round
A sale coming back is a second run, ordered exactly like the first.
What you write in the description
The courier reads that line and can turn the item down at pickup. Describe the piece as it is, and nothing from the refused list: no cash, no card, no jewellery, whatever the listing said.
The buyer who is not in Paris
Both addresses have to sit inside the covered zone. A sale going to another region or abroad goes by carrier, and the courier can at least take the labelled parcel to them.
